We had been talking about a drink at Sky Pod Bar at Sky Garden every time we caught sight of the walkie talkie on our way into London. I had heard a lot about the spectacular views and couldn’t wait to see them for myself.
So with much anticipation of the views, we made reservations for standing access at the Sky Pod bar. Why not book a table? I choose this option as not all tables are situated near the windows and also booking a table required minimum spend. They do accept walk-ins but be prepared for a longish queue.
The Sky Gardens is situated at 20 Fenchurch street, the iconic financial district of London. The nearest tube station would be the Monument but since I took a train to London Bridge it was a good fifteen minutes walk.
The place had much to offer
We headed to the 36th floor after airport security like search(be prepared)We loved what the place had to offer-High ceilings,multi-levels, tropical flora, beautifully landscaped spaces, live band, and the icing on the cake..breathtaking views.
The breathtaking views
We picked our drinks and climbed up to view the city from wooden benches near the windows. There are staircases on either side. Other than the Sky Pod bar there is also the Darwin brasserie and the Fenchurch restaurant.
The Sky Pod Bar is all about the view. Imagine the whole of London spread out. As I entered I got to see the Shard. You will be able to immediately identify the weirdly shaped Cheesegrater and Gherkin. I personally loved seeing the London Bridge and the sunset over St Paul’s Cathedral.
Love to eat, travel, and laugh. At the moment having fun monkeying around and finding the world a wonderful place every day with my two-year-old. Here you'll find snippets of my experiences - good, bad, funny and ugly, and a lot of pushing the pram!
